Product Overview

All Single Skin Oil Tanks are supplied as standard with an integral, weatherproof vent, designed to release and reduce pressure during refueling. However, whilst a vent is necessary to maintain the integrity of any oil storage tank installation during filling and ensure the safety of delivery personnel, a poorly secured vent can also act as an access point to the fuel tank for thieves.

Atkinson’s Locking Vent Cap addresses this issue. Manufactured in the United Kingdom by Atkinson Equipment Limited, the Locking Vent Cap reduces the risk of thieves gaining access to the fuel stored inside any Single Skin Oil Tank fitted with a vent secured to the tank by a 2″ male upstand.

The Vent Cap is placed into the upstand secured to the tank, using the supplied grub screw, followed by a shear screw. The shear screw is designed to break away from the vent when fully tightened, leaving a flat, clean surface which makes it difficult for thieves to use as a lever point to gain access to the tank.

Compatibility

Suitable for use with any tank incorporating a vent with a 2″ male upstand e.g. Harlequin Single Skin Heating Oil Tanks. Please note this product is unsuitable for use with tanks incorporating surface mounted vents e.g. most Bunded Tanks and most Titan Single Skin Heating Oil Tanks.
